Carolyn Njoroge se rappelle une soir\u00e9e terrifiante fin 2007, lorsqu\u2019elle est devenue une victime de la violence qui a \u00e9clat\u00e9 suite au r\u00e9sultat des \u00e9lections nationales. \u00ab Mon voisin a enfonc\u00e9 ma porte d\u2019un coup de pied, hurlant qu\u2019il voulait nous tuer pour avoir \u00e9lu le pr\u00e9sident \u00bb, a racont\u00e9 Carolyn Njoroge au quotidien <i>The Telegraph<\/i> en 2013. \u00ab Je me suis cach\u00e9e sous le lit pendant que des individus arm\u00e9s de machettes et autres armes faisaient main basse sur tout objet de valeur \u2014 les chaises, les assiettes, nos v\u00eatements. Mes enfants ont pass\u00e9 pr\u00e8s de six heures cach\u00e9s dans une latrine \u00e0 fosse, tandis que des bandes recherchaient les Kikuyus \u00bb (membres d\u2019une tribu k\u00e9nyane majeure).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Fin 2014, des ouvriers ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 monter une s\u00e9rie d\u2019\u00e9clairages tr\u00e8s puissants et \u00e0 apporter de nouveaux am\u00e9nagements et services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">En d\u00e9cembre, le pr\u00e9sident Uhuru Kenyatta a annonc\u00e9 le Projet collectivit\u00e9s et \u00e9clairage public \u00e0 l\u2019occasion d\u2019un rassemblement de r\u00e9sidents de Kibera. Uhuru Kenyatta a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que rien ne justifiait le fait que cette collectivit\u00e9 n\u2019a pas pu obtenir de services publics depuis l\u2019ind\u00e9pendance, il y a plus de 50 ans. \u00ab Depuis l\u2019ind\u00e9pendance, c\u2019est la premi\u00e8re fois que le gouvernement est all\u00e9 au-devant de Kibera, et nous promettons qu\u2019il ne repartira pas \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9 devant une foule de milliers de r\u00e9sidents, d\u2019apr\u00e8s la radio Capital FM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">En novembre 2014, les ouvriers ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 installer 21 m\u00e2ts d\u2019\u00e9clairage, chacun de 30 m\u00e8tres de hauteur et dot\u00e9 de neuf lampes.
