Il raconte l\u2019histoire de trois enfants rwandais qui tentent d\u2019assister \u00e0 la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie d\u2019ouverture de la Coupe du monde de football de 2010.<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\">THE EASTAFRICAN<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Apr\u00e8s le g\u00e9nocide rwandais de 1994, qui a co\u00fbt\u00e9 la vie \u00e0 des centaines de milliers de personnes, des Rwandais ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 raconter leur histoire au cin\u00e9ma.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Le premier \u00e0 l\u2019avoir fait est Eric Kabera qui, en 2001, s\u2019est associ\u00e9 avec le cin\u00e9aste britannique Nick Hughes pour r\u00e9aliser <i>100 jours.<\/i> Non seulement son film a connu un succ\u00e8s lors de la premi\u00e8re \u00e0 Kampala, en Ouganda, mais il a aussi remport\u00e9 le Prix du meilleur film en Inde. Comme son nom l\u2019indique, le film relate ce qui s\u2019est pass\u00e9 pendant le g\u00e9nocide, lorsqu\u2019un million de Rwandais ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tu\u00e9s en l\u2019espace de 100 jours. Par la suite, il a incit\u00e9 d\u2019autres cin\u00e9astes locaux et internationaux \u00e0 faire d\u2019autres films sur le g\u00e9nocide. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Les plus remarquables d\u2019entre eux sont l\u2019\u00e9pop\u00e9e <i>Quelques jours en avril<\/i>, le documentaire fascinant <i>J\u2019ai serr\u00e9 la main du Diable <\/i>et<i> H\u00f4tel Rwanda,<\/i> bas\u00e9 sur ce qui s\u2019est pass\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4tel des Milles Collines pendant le g\u00e9nocide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Des dizaines de films sur les 100 jours les plus sombres de l\u2019histoire du Rwanda sont devenus l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ment d\u00e9terminant de la nouvelle industrie cin\u00e9matographique du pays. Mais \u00e0 mesure que l\u2019industrie prenait de l\u2019ampleur, les cin\u00e9astes rwandais se sont rendus compte qu\u2019il fallait faire des films qui repr\u00e9sentaient le Rwanda d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Pour Kabera, le succ\u00e8s de <i>100 jours<\/i> a \u00e9t\u00e9 une source d\u2019inspiration pour r\u00e9aliser un autre projet : la cr\u00e9ation du Rwanda Cinema Centre, un centre de formation pour les futurs cin\u00e9astes. Le centre, qui a ouvert ses portes en 2003, a form\u00e9 des sc\u00e9naristes, des metteurs en sc\u00e8ne et des r\u00e9alisateurs et pourtant la culture cin\u00e9matographique ne repr\u00e9sentait pas encore grand-chose au Rwanda.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">En 2005, Kabera a lanc\u00e9 le premier festival cin\u00e9matographique du Rwanda qu\u2019il a baptis\u00e9 \u00ab Hillywood \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00ab<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> Hillywood signifie le cin\u00e9ma dans les collines du Rwanda \u00bb, a-t-il expliqu\u00e9. L\u2019objectif principal d\u2019Hillywood, aussi connu comme le Festival cin\u00e9matographique du Rwanda, \u00e9tait de servir de plate-forme aux films produits localement et d\u2019aider les cin\u00e9astes locaux \u00e0 rencontrer des cin\u00e9astes internationaux.
