Un C-130 atterrit avec succ\u00e8s sur un porte-avions am\u00e9ricain. Son envergure de 40 m\u00e8tres d\u00e9gagea la tour de contr\u00f4le avec un \u00e9cart de 4 m\u00e8tres seulement.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Cinquante-cinq ans plus tard, il conserve le record du plus grand et plus lourd avion qui ait jamais atterri sur un porte-avions.<\/p>\n<p>Mais ce n\u2019\u00e9tait pas le test le plus ardu du C-130. Comme l\u2019indique le site Web <i>The Aviationist<\/i>, les C-130 \u00e9quip\u00e9s de skis rev\u00eatus de t\u00e9flon sont utilis\u00e9s dans les r\u00e9gions arctique et antarctique. Cet avion transporteur militaire \u00e0 quatre turbopropulseurs a servi comme transport de personnel, clinique m\u00e9dicale volante, a\u00e9ronef d\u2019assaut, a\u00e9ronef de soutien pour la recherche scientifique, avion de recherche et sauvetage, ravitailleur a\u00e9rien, patrouilleur maritime et avion de lutte contre les incendies. La liste des emplois pourrait \u00eatre beaucoup plus longue. Il en existe m\u00eame une version civile appel\u00e9e LM-100J.<\/p>\n<p>En date de 2018, 16 pays d\u2019Afrique utilisent des C-130.<\/p>\n<p>Lockheed, soci\u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9ricaine, d\u00e9clare que c\u2019est la guerre de Cor\u00e9e qui a fourni l\u2019impulsion pour mettre en service les C-130. Dans ce conflit, l\u2019Arm\u00e9e de l\u2019air am\u00e9ricaine r\u00e9alisa qu\u2019il lui fallait un avion transporteur polyvalent qui pourrait acheminer par avion les troupes sur des distances moyennes et atterrir sur de petits terrains rudimentaires. L\u2019 Arm\u00e9e de l\u2019air \u00e9tablit des sp\u00e9cifications pour un nouvel avion et Lockheed remporta le contrat.<\/p>\n<p>Le premier C-130 de production effectua son premier vol le 7 avril 1955. Comme aujourd\u2019hui, cet avion \u00e9tait remarquable avec ses quatre turbopropulseurs, son rayon d\u2019action de 4.000 kilom\u00e8tres et sa capacit\u00e9 de transport de plus de 70 soldats.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9videmment bien con\u00e7u \u00bb, d\u00e9clare Tom Wetherall, directeur du d\u00e9veloppement commercial chez Lockheed Martin, au magazine <i>Popular Mechanics<\/i>. \u00ab Il est en production depuis 60 ans. Il a une haute voilure. C\u2019est un turbopropulseur. Ses moteurs et ses h\u00e9lices sont prot\u00e9g\u00e9s. La voilure droite assure son efficacit\u00e9 pour qu\u2019il atterrisse et d\u00e9colle des pistes non goudronn\u00e9es, afin d\u2019\u00e9liminer le plus t\u00f4t possible la charge exerc\u00e9e sur les roues. Le fuselage est pr\u00e8s du sol, \u00e0 la hauteur d\u2019une plateforme de camion, et il est charg\u00e9 par l\u2019arri\u00e8re. C\u2019est une configuration qui reste in\u00e9gal\u00e9e. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Au fil des ann\u00e9es, 70 pays environ ont acquis des C-130. Plus de 2.500 avions ont \u00e9t\u00e9 produits. Le C-130 standard a plus de 40 variations.<\/p>\n<p>Le magazine <i>Forbes<\/i> pr\u00e9dit que le C-130 deviendra sans doute le premier a\u00e9ronef militaire de l\u2019histoire \u00e0 rester continuellement en service pendant<br \/>\n100 ans.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Le C-130 \u2026 continue \u00e0 \u00eatre produit dans l\u2019usine de Lockheed Martin \u00e0 Marietta (G\u00e9orgie) \u00e0 la fr\u00e9quence d\u2019un avion toutes les deux semaines, selon le rapport du magazine.
